Felipe and Angela’s Dolomites Elopement
Felipe and Angela already had their big wedding.
They celebrated in Colombia surrounded by all of their friends and family. It was joyful and full and everything a big wedding should be.
But even after that, they still felt like they wanted something just for them.
Something slower.
Quieter.
More intentional.
So instead of choosing between a wedding and an elopement… they chose both.
They decided to combine their honeymoon with an intimate elopement in the Dolomites. And honestly? It was perfect.
Sunrise at Lago di Braies
We met early in the morning at Lago di Braies while everything still felt still and sleepy. The air was cold. The lake was calm. The mountains were reflecting perfectly in the water.
We started the day just wandering. No pressure. No rushing. Just getting into the vibe of the day and letting it unfold naturally.
As the sun began to rise, they stepped into one of the wooden row boats and floated out over the freezing alpine water.
Mid-Day Hotel Vibes
Afterward, we went back to the hotel to warm up with coffee and breakfast. And this is where one of my favorite photos of the entire day happened.
Angela stepped out onto her balcony in her stunning dress and the fabric draped down over the bright flower boxes below. The contrast of her gown against the rustic balcony and colorful blooms was unreal. It felt so Italian and so elegant and so effortless.
Those in between moments are always my favorite.
Hiking Into the Mountains
From there, we headed into the national park for the next part of the day.
The weather was absolutely ideal. High light clouds covered the sky, which made the lighting soft and neutral. The mountains looked massive but the light felt gentle. There were not many people out, and everything felt calm and easy.
Felipe and Angela joked and laughed the entire hike. It felt fun. Relaxed. Like we were just out exploring.
The Most Emotional Vows
We eventually found a completely quiet spot surrounded by towering peaks. The mountains felt enormous behind them as they turned toward each other to read their vows.
And it was emotional.
There were tears.
There was laughter.
There were shaky voices and deep breaths.
It was just them. No one watching. No timeline pressure. Just the two of them promising forever in the middle of the mountains.
As the Night Came to An End
Afterward, we popped champagne and had a little toast. We laid out a small picnic and just let the moment breathe. No rushing to the next thing. No schedule to stick to.
We wandered a bit more through the landscape and ended the day with a few lantern shots as the light faded and the mountains softened into the background.
The whole day felt intimate. Intentional. Completely theirs.
You Can Have Both
What I love most about their story is that they did not force themselves to choose.
They had their big celebration in Colombia with everyone they love. And they also gave themselves the gift of a quiet, adventurous elopement in the Dolomites.
You can gather all your friends and family and dance all night.
And you can stand on a mountain with just your partner and read private vows.
It does not have to be one or the other.
It is your wedding. You get to design it in a way that feels aligned with who you are.
Felipe and Angela chose both. And it was magic.
If you have been dreaming about combining your honeymoon with an intimate adventure somewhere breathtaking, this is your reminder that you absolutely can.
And if that place happens to be the Dolomites… I would meet you there in a heartbeat.
