A Yosemite Vow Renewal: It’s Never To Late To Get The Wedding Photos You’ve Dreamt About

Just because you chose to have a big, beautiful wedding doesn’t mean you have to let go of that adventure you always dreamed about.

You can still have it.

That’s exactly what Kristin and Randy did.

A few years after their wedding, they headed out to Yosemite for the first time on their anniversary to renew their vows and finally get the photos they had always envisioned. No pressure, no timeline, just the two of them and a full day to experience it all.

Tunnel View

We started the morning at Tunnel View as the valley slowly came to life.

The light started creeping in, hitting El Capitan and Half Dome, and everything felt quiet and peaceful in that early morning way that Yosemite does best. It was the perfect way to ease into the day, taking it all in before the valley filled up.

Yosemite Valley Chapel

From there, we made our way through the valley and stopped by the chapel.

It’s such a simple, beautiful spot, tucked into the landscape, and it felt like a really meaningful place to pause for a bit. We kept things relaxed, just letting them be together and soak it all in.

Wandering Through the Valley

This part of the day was all about exploring.

We wandered across bridges, found quiet spots along the river, and just moved through the valley as the light warmed up and softened everything around us. Nothing felt rushed or overly planned, it was just them, experiencing Yosemite together.

Yosemite Falls

Then we headed to Lower Yosemite Falls… and something completely unreal happened.

The sun hit the spray from the waterfall at just the right angle, and the most incredible rainbow appeared right behind them. It was one of those moments you can’t plan, it just happens, and you’re lucky enough to be there for it.

Honestly, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

Vernal Falls

And then we did something a little wild.

We hiked up to Vernal Falls.

If you’ve ever done the Mist Trail, you know what that means. The mist was intense. We were completely soaked, laughing the whole way, and just fully leaning into it. It was messy and fun and real, and some of my favorite moments from the entire day came from that hike.

Cozy Cabin Vows

After all of that, we headed back to their Airbnb.

They changed into comfy clothes, grabbed a drink, and sat together in their cozy A-frame cabin. No audience, no pressure, just the two of them.

That’s where they read their vows.

It was quiet, simple, and honestly perfect.

You can do this whenever you want.

If your wedding day didn’t include the adventure you dreamed of, it’s never too late. Choose somewhere amazing, put back on that dress (or wear something completely different), and create the experience you’ve been wanting.

It’s Never Too Late To Have The Day You Dreamed Of

This is your reminder that it’s never too late.

If your wedding day didn’t look the way you imagined, or you’ve always dreamed of doing something more adventurous, more personal, or just different, you can still do it. Whether it’s your anniversary, a random Tuesday, or years down the line, you get to create that experience whenever you want.

I absolutely love helping couples plan days like this. From choosing the perfect locations to building a timeline that feels relaxed and intentional, to making sure you’re in the best light at the best moments, I’m there for all of it.

If you’ve been thinking about doing something like this, take this as your sign. Let’s plan something incredible together.
